🎵 Help Pamela Mary Honor the Guadalupe River Flood Victims Through Song

Hi, I’m Pamela Mary, an inspirational country music singer-songwriter from Texas. You may know me as a finalist for the Texas Country Music Association’s Christian Country Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year. But today, I’m not writing a song for awards… I’m writing one to honor lives that were lost too soon.

🌊 On July 4, 2025, tragedy struck along the Guadalupe River.

Catastrophic flooding devastated the Texas Hill Country, especially Kerr County. After heavy overnight rainfall on July 4, the Guadalupe River surged to a staggering 37 feet in Hunt, sweeping away homes, RVs (including that of another country music friend of mine), vehicles, and entire campsites in a matter of moments.

Among the hardest hit was Camp Mystic, where summer joy turned into unspeakable tragedy. At least 139 lives were lost across the region, over 100 of them in Kerr County alone. Many were children and teens, away at summer camp, embracing faith, friendship, and fun when the unthinkable happened.

Names like Virginia Hollis, Blakely McCrory, Lila Bonner, Eloise Peck, twin sisters Hanna and Rebecca Lawrence, Mary Grace Baker, and beloved counselor Chloe Childress have become etched in our hearts. Each one deeply loved. Each one irreplaceable. Each one mourned by an entire state.

The weight of this grief has settled over Texas like a storm cloud. And for those of us who create music or art, or even just pray, it’s our calling to help the healing begin.

Like many of you, I’ve wept with Texas. In fact, I bawled my eyes out. I’ve prayed desperately for the families. And as a songwriter, I did the only thing I know to do… write a song to honor them all.

🎶 Introducing “Gates of Guadalupe”

This is so much more than just another country music love song, heartbreak song, or drinking song. It’s a deeply heartfelt musical memorial.

I’m raising $30,000 to professionally record, produce, and release Gates of Guadalupe, a beautiful song that remembers, reflects, and reminds us that hope still flows, even when the waters rise, plus four more inspirational country songs.

💔 Why I Care So Deeply

I lived through Hurricane Harvey that flooded Houston, TX in 2017. I know what it feels like to feel helpless and to watch friends and neighbors lose almost everything. I also battle a debilitating illness (multiple sclerosis), yet my passion to write songs that sing about hope still burns within me.

I’m just an imperfect woman with a guitar and a heart way too full to stay silent.
